About cbrc

Colorado Bourbon and Rye Collector’s was founded in 2017 as a local whiskey educational and trading platform with about 50 members. Since then, CBRC has grown to over 275 paid members including many influential liquor store owners, distributors and distillery representatives. Over this time, CBRC has grown its educational division to include events put on by distilleries such as Belle Meade (Nelson Greenbriar), Whistlepig and Old Forester (Brown-Forman).

CBRC has partnered with over two dozen distilleries from across the country to bring personalized private barrel selections to our members. The goal of this program is to give our members the opportunity to try and own bottles from distilleries that they may otherwise not have access to. So far CBRC has brought our members bottles from distilleries such as New Riff, Traverse City Whiskey and Smoke Wagon (all of which were not available in Colorado at the time). We also love to give our members access to allocated barrels from distilleries such as Four Roses, Old Forester and Buffalo Trace. On top of this $300-$1,000 from each barrel selection gets donated to charity.

Speaking of charity, The CBRC Foundation was approved as an official non profit 501(c)3 in September of 2020. On top of that, CBRC has donated over $250,000 to various charities since its inception including $70,000 in 2020 and over $125,000 since the beginning of 2021.

In June 2020, we raised $13,000 for Karis Community, a local Colorado nonprofit that helps people suffering from mental illness. We also donated $56,000 to LEE Initiative as a part of a nationwide fundraiser as a part of the Restaurant Workers Relief Program. In the beginning of 2021 we partnered with Justin Wren from Fight for the Forgotten and Buffalo Trace to help raise $100,000 in less than 30 days.

Some of the other recipients of our philanthropy include Jewish Family Services, Children’s Colorado Foundation, Pediatric Congenital Heart Association, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. This is the most important aspect of CBRC. Our ability to band together and connect over a common passion, and use that to help those in need is what we are all about.

The future is bright for CBRC! We have several educational events planned, over a dozen barrel selections secured and our annual Memorial Day Charity drive will continue to help our community.
